About Shake&Pop
In 2024, three best friends embarked on a mad quest—a dream they could no longer merely talk about but had to manifest: Veronica Everett, Megan Haynes, and Isabella Buckner began their journey into producing theater.
The founders of Shake&Pop needed a creative home where they could explore the themes of life and death, love and loss, power and tenderness. But that home had to welcome all, regardless of race, gender, and sexuality. It had to function on a budget and accommodate jobs, schools, and families.
Support and inclusion are our way forward! We collaborate as leaders and take the challenges as they come. Playing to our strengths and holding each other up, we make room for human beings who sometimes need a break while working together to create something beautiful.
After our inaugural production of Hamlet in 2024, a couple of castmates saw the vision, understood the assignment, and joined the coven. We are delighted to welcome RaChelle Schmidt and Magdalen Powers to the team!
Shakespeare is endlessly fascinating, enduringly entertaining, and epically out of date. Theatre is fulfilling, fun, and often functionally impossible due to economic circumstances or disabilities. Together, the five of us are ready to take on the joy of shaking things up. And we promise never to say, “But this is how it’s always been done.”
